MUMBAI: The BMC has collected 102 metric tonnes of debris, 70 metric tonnes of garbage and 25 metric tonnes of large items, over a period of one month during the deep clean drive. The civic body also claimed to have cleaned 634 km roads.
A deep clean drive was carried out on Saturday as well, during which apart from making roads and footpaths dust-free, disposal of abandoned vehicles, action against unlicensed hoardings, cleaning of public toilets, removing debris, and removal of dangerous wire nets among others, was also done.As many as 1,555 workers were engaged along with 175 vehicles and machines. The drive was carried out in areas like Maharshi Karve Marg, Charni Road Station, Andheri Subway Marg, Andheri Ghatkopar Junction Road, Sakinaka Metro station, etc.
