NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission has cancelled the BPSC TRE 3.0 exam which was conducted on March 15. The third phase of the teacher recruitment examination has been cancelled due to a paper leak, as per the official notification released by the commission.
The BPSC TRE 3.0 examination was held in two shifts for Primary and Middle School Teachers through offline mode.
It was reported by the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU), Patna that the Bihar TRE 3.0 question papers were accessed by an organised gang before the examination. In this regard, the EOU has registered a case in the matter on March 16 under various sections, prior investigation and legal action is being taken.
In order to take any decision regarding the examination, the Commission through a letter from the EOU called for standard evidence and also inquired about certain points mentioned in the FIR through the Deputy Nodal Officer, in response to which a letter was sent by the EOU.
It was informed that “In the course of investigation, any information and sealed electronic devices cannot be shared with any office/unit as per rules.” An FIR registered by the EOU has mentioned the question paper being leaked before the exam.
The commission has said that the date to re-conduct the BPSC TRE 3.0 examinations will be announced in due course. This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill up a total of 87,774 vacant seats of school teachers in Bihar.

Despite successfully organising TRE 1.0 and TRE 2.0, the commission faced protests from candidates due to alleged paper leak allegations surrounding Bihar Teacher Recruitment Exam 3.0.
Acting on a tip-off, the Economic Offences Unit conducted searches across several locations in Hazaribagh on March 14 and 15. It was revealed that candidates preparing for TRE 3.0, brought in from different areas of Bihar, had been provided with question papers. “On the day of the examination, March 15, candidates were supposed to leave at around 3 am for their respective exam centres. They all were detained and on the basis of their interrogation, officials managed to nab certain members of the gang involved in the paper leak”, said EOU, as reported by PTI.
Candidates who appeared in the BPSC TRE exam for the third phase are advised to frequently check the official website of the commission for latest updates and accurate information regarding rescheduled exam dates.
