Govt launches Sugamaya Sahayak Scheme for persons with disabilities | Delhi News – Times of India | IIT EXPERT



New Delhi: Delhi Govt on Wednesday launched Sugamaya Sahayak Scheme for persons with benchmark disabilities. Under this scheme, the eligible persons will receive a range of assistive devices, including artificial limbs, tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, adjustable axillary crutches, smart cane, smartphones and other useful kits from govt.
A “person with benchmark disability” means a person with not less than 40% of a specified disability.
To avail the benefits, the applicants must be a person with benchmark disability as per the disability certificate/UDID card and a resident of Delhi. They must possess an Aadhaar Card, and the annual income limit of the family from all sources should not be more than Rs 8 lakh.
Govt has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alimco, a public sector undertaking, for a period of five years.
