Mumbai: A woman commuter, in her 20s, was rescued by an on-duty railway policeman during the wee hours of Sunday, after she allegedly fell off the train as it was leaving the Bhayander railway station. The woman claimed to have felt dizzy. The incident was captured on the closed circuit television of platform number 1. At around 12am, a Virar bound train arrived on the platform.Two Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel were on duty. When the train halted, a cop, Eknath Mane, was seen helping a disabled man board the northbound general compartment. As the train began leaving the platform, Mane moved away. Just then a woman standing at the footboard of the second class ladies compartment, fell off. She was being dragged along with the train that had not picked up speed. Mane caught hold of the woman, who could have otherwise slipped through the gap between the platform and the track. tnn
